Pastafarian Vandalism

This is a slightly outdated story, but a worthwhile one to discuss. Part of what makes the secular community great is that the level of hypocrisy on our side is usually a small fraction of a fraction of a fraction of what you see in the overall religious community.

When something goes terribly wrong–for example, when a bunch of lunatics spray paint a church with messages from his Noodliness, the Flying Spaghetti Monster–our community is sure to respond. After all, noodly acts of vandalism do not represent atheists any more than the Westboro Baptist Church represents Christianity.

Atheists raised over $3000 in a matter of hours for a church-cleanup fund.

“You see people who maybe have very different belief systems, and yet come together and realize we are all human.” said Mike Alexander with the Westside Church.

Thank you, Mike. It’s not what religion you are brought up in or even what you believe that makes a difference. It’s what you do and how you serve humanity.
